Dr. Elena Herrera
Dr. Elena Herrera is a licensed, bilingual (Spanish/English) Clinical Psychologist in California and Oregon. She completed her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from Pepperdine University and post-doctoral training at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. For over seven years, she worked with children and adolescents experiencing emotional crises, families in distress, and incarcerated minors. She has years of experience working with college students, young adults, and older adults. Dr. Herrera has an extensive background in clinical administration and training. She continues to train and teach doctoral students pursuing psychology.
Currently, Dr. Herrera owns and operates a private practice, which provides treatment for adults and couples. Dr. Herrera has extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and is completing the process to become certified by the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). In her work with couples, Dr. Herrera helps to repair the wounds caused by the stress of infertility and the challenges of starting a family. She believes passionately that strengthening relationships saves lives and protects generations to come.
Dr. Herrera’s passion for couples therapy and supporting those who are navigating the world of fertility and family planning along with her substantial training and experience in conducting psychological assessments give her a distinct aptitude for conducting assessments within this field. She has been an ardent member of the team since July 2024.
She has continued her professional growth in the field of infertility through research and involvement as a professional member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, ASRM Mental Health Professional Group, and the Society for Ethics in Egg Donation and Surrogacy.
