Serena T. B.
Serena is a board-certified clinical genetic counselor licensed to practice in Oregon, Washington and California. Before becoming a genetic counselor, Serena completed her Bachelors and Masters degrees in teaching at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR and taught high school biology for ten years.
She has been working in fertility and third party reproduction for ten years, and is passionate about donor conceived people - and their parents - receiving detailed and accurate family history information from their donor. This allows parents to choose a donor based on the genetic risks associated with her eggs and also for the child's physicians to know the medical histories of her relatives. The intent is to identify potential risk factors and disease susceptibilities because early diagnosis and treatment are important to long-term outcomes, and oftentimes preventative factors can reduce the risk for disease.
Serena is excited and humbled to offer genetic support to parents and donors on their journey to creating healthy children and families.
